Houston is one hell of a literary town. The fourth largest city in the United States, it's home to one of the country's best graduate writing programs, but it has more than that, too.

There are number of venues that host open mic readings, including art galleries and bars. Houston is also home to many world-class writers, two exceptional museums, and a wide range of creative and cultural outlets.
